Don't count your chickens...

... before having installed the hardware!

Or more precisely, I should not have announced the arrival of the new server for Watson before being sure that it was working... It seems that there was a little accident during the delivery, the server should have been dropped, leading to apparently superficial damages. Then, even though it seems only superficial, we cannot even check if it is working until someone from the constructor's company comes to test, and hopefully fix it...

That means at least one more week before we can start playing with our new toy... grrr :-(

Great News!

The Watson server is arrived: Yeepee!
We (mostly Laurian) will have to play with it during the week... so, wait for some news very soon!

The current status of Watson.

I think the first time Watson (or rather the idea of Watson) was mentioned by Enrico was during the summer 2006, and that it was more-or-less in the following way: "you know, we have all this stuff about next generation Semantic Web applications, PowerAqua, Magpie, etc. and seriously, I cannot imagine that this would work if we rely on Swoogle. We should think about building our own Swoogle." Then, I will skip all the part when we had endless discussions about defining what was meant by "our own Swoogle", when and how we found the name, the first time it has been publicly mentioned, the choice of the logo, the first technical development, the first demo... to jump directly to the current status.
